Regarding COVID-19:

While we continue to be encouraged by declining COVID-19 case counts and hospitalizations, coupled with increasing vaccinations, we cannot let up on the practices that have helped keep Texans safe over the last year. With a handful of new COVID-19 variants quickly spreading across our communities, it is all the more important you continue to:

•  Mask up
• Distance from others
• Practice hand hygiene

Let’s each do our part to protect each other and help stop the spread of COVID-19.

We are currently limiting the number of people in our facility and are only allowing access to ONE family member (or guest) for each of our patients, but they will only be allowed to stay with the patient in pre-op holding and recovery. During the procedure, family members (or guests) should seek options other than our family waiting area, such as waiting in the car. Parents of pediatric patients and caregivers for patients with special needs will be allowed a maximum to TWO guests.

We will continue with our multi-point screening process for all patients to Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland. Screenings for patients will occur by phone prior to the procedure date, as well as in person when you arrive on the day of surgery. We also ask that as much as possible, please self-quarantine for 7 days prior to your procedure.

All patients and visitors experiencing any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19 or who can answer “yes” to any of questions listed below should avoid coming to the facility and should reach out to our staff in advance to alert us to the situation so we can determine the best path forward. Patients, family members, and visitors who are sick and who do come to the facility may be asked to seek treatment or may be denied entry. This will help us minimize any potential contamination. Please communicate this to your loved ones and others who may want to visit.

Screening Questions:

• Do you have a temperature greater than 100˚
• Have you had recent/new onset of any of the following?:
• Coughing or nasal congestion not related to allergies, sinus infection, or COPD; Sore throat; Shortness of breath not related to chronic disease; diarrhea; nausea or vomiting; fatigue or malaise; loss of taste/smell; headaches.
• Are you living with someone that is quarantined?
• Have you been in contact with an individual that is positive for COVID-19?
• Have you been in contact with a Person Under Investigation (PUI) for COVID-19?
• Are you considered a Person Under Investigation (PUI) for COVID-19?
• Have you tested positive for COVID-19?
